Hi everyone. My son Dean has been wearing the molding helmet for about 7 weeks now, and our NS hopes that we will be done at the end of February...yea!
My question is, when people have gone to the orthotist for adjustments, what type of adjustments have been made to the helmet? Are adjustments only made when there is some type of skin issue, or redness that doesn't go away? Or are they supposed to be taking foam off in certain places to really "mold" the head? Our son's helmet seems to look like the shape of his forehead, and even though there has been much improvement since wearing the helmet, we are wondering if his head has moved all it will move without more adjusting. Any help or info would be great!

well, i can't offer much information.
our son has had his helmet for over a month.
we've went for three adjustments already, it still isn't right.
they've only adjusted because of redness and twisting.
we go again on wednesday, hope they get a good fit this time.
huh? i'll be interested to hear the others responses to the molding aspect.

When Jackson went for adjustments, they looked for any redness. If there was even the slightest hint of rubbing, the inside was shaved in the area where it would rub. Jackson did well with his helmet and it really only needed adjusting a few times in 9 months. I was consistent about looking for any signs of discomfort.

Good luck with Dean. I hope all goes well.
