Ok sooo about 2 days ago tyler where he was most swollen at which was the right side started to get a small bump I thought ok its prolly normal. But now the bump is huge actually it looks like a horn and I need to know if its normal if its ok.Its not soft its hard as if you were to hit your head and get a big bump theres not any reactions such as fever fatigue throwing up and so on.I know I havent been on but I had to go to alabama to pick up hunter I mean besides the bump he looks amazing did any of your children get anything like this?Is it normal do any of you know?We have a drs appointment tomorrow at 12 30 I am so nervous they will say he needs surgery again.HELPPPPPPP

Try not to worry too much! All of the bumps and lumps seem to suddenly appear, but you really just start to notice them as the swelling goes down. Vance had a huge knot on the top of his head that I noticed about a week post op, I was terrified! At the follow up vist with our PS he told us it was just one of the plates and things would smooth out over time. You also start feeling/seeing the "hardware", so try to expect some of it and not let your self freak out. If it is something that really just doesn't seem right, or makes your really uncomfortable I would call your dr. Better to be safe! Please update us after you appointment and let us know what he says. I would be more than happy to post some pics for you. I will send you an email.

There's all sorts of lumps and bumbs to be found (I was lucky Emily had so much hair, I really didn't see any except at bath time)....If you are concerned, of course ask the NS or PS....I'm sure tomorrow they will tell you he look great! :hugg

Megan, even after weeks of surgery, you will notice bumps and lumps, there is nothing to worry about. These may just be screws that will disappear in 6 months to a year. I was worried too at first, but the ps said it will all even out in time, and he was right. :-)

Don't worry, or should I say try not to worry. Miriam had the exact samething and I remember everyone telling me that it was just swelling. It is really hard to believe because it is hard. I am not sure how it works, but Miriam's did go away.
I hope that helps. I know it is so hard just to believe that everything can be ok. I remember just thinking that something was going to be wrong. Just try to breathe.

I am so glad to hear that all is going well. I will tell you the bumps and lumps freak me out too. Sylvia is 16 months post op and has a very lumpy head. Her surgeons have said that that is normal. Still feels freaky though.
