Thank you very much for all of your thoughts and prayers. Skylie is home now and doing very well. The doctor said to treat her like normal and only give her Tylenol or Motrin for any pain. So far even without any meds she seems to not be in any pain at all. She never did have any swelling like we thought she would have, and she never got any bruising either. Over all everything went way better than we could have ever hoped.

The only thing that was out of the ordinary was the fused suture itself. When the suture fused it formed a ridge on the top of her head. The doctor had also told us that there would be a matching ridge on the underside of the bone. What we didn't know was that the ridge on the underside was so deep that it was pushing on a main blood vessel in the brain. Most likely, Skylie was having some pretty serious headaches because of it. The good news is that since the doctor operated so quickly (on her 3 month birthday instead of later) that it didn't cause any permanent damage.

Her head is looking so much better now. The picture that was taken when we first got to the hospital looks like a totally different person. Her head has changed shape so quickly, and even her eyes look different to me. She looks so much better now it is unbelievable. The best thing is that the stiffness in her muscles has lessened so much that she might not even need the physical therapy anymore. I think it was just that ridge pushing on her brain that was making her so stiff. I am very glad that the surgery is over now and she shouldn't need anymore operations.

We go back to the neurosurgeon in 10 days to have the tape removed and to check the dissolvable stiches, and probably every few months after that for a while to make sure the bone is growing back ok. We still have to see a geneticist just to be sure everything else is normal, but I am positive that everything will be fine. Skylie's physical therapist will be here this afternoon and I will let you all know what she says.

Thank you all for thinking of us, we really do appreciate your prayers.

Wow! What amazing news! Especially with the muscle stiffness. I am so happy that she is recovering so well and quickly.
Can you tell a personality change? Altho. she is probably too young for you to notice a difference. Our son also had a lot of pressure and headaches and his personality change was the one thing most people remarked about following his surgery.
I would also love to see pictures. Take care
