Sorry, I'm attacking this board lately. I have another question. Does anyone know how much these head bands cost? I'm afraid that we will be paying 50% & I'm having a bit of a panic attack :react . . . .premature probably, but that's how I roll!
also. . . again sorry, I'm all over the place, but about the decorating. . .
I'm under the impression that we can get the helmet w/a design or color. . .I do want to decorate her helmet, but I'm wondering if anyone has designed their child's helmet in a way that was changeable? You know for a special occasion or something.
Well, I guess that's all for the moment. I'm sure there will be more, but I'll try to get a handle on my pyscotic episodes! :crazy

I'm not sure about costs, hopefully someone else can fill you in on that one. But the best idea that I have heard (My son get's his helmet on Tues) is scrapbooking stickers with clear nail polish over the top.
My son goes through Hanger and they had a lot of different designs to chose from but I just choose a solid baby blue so I can decorate it with stickers because like you, I want to be able to change it up every now and then.

Avery's first helmet was a sort of tie-dyed swirly blue and white and his second one was camo. lol If you go under my profile you can see a pic of him in his second one. You can get just a solid color of anything form race cars to sports teams at some places. It may depend on the manufacturer they use.

Our helmet was $2300 and we paid in full. Our insurance company reimbursed us afterwards, but they were not in network with Cranial Tech. Depending on your helmet company you can order them colored. Cranial Tech ONLY offered white.

I used decals to decorate from Corey. I loved them. You can also paint/sticker depending on your helmet company... I've heard some people say their helmet company restricted decorations...

I think the price depends on brand, we used Hanger the Sophie's is $2500 we have been told we will be responsible for $300 of that but I haven't gotten a bill or a statement yet. Decorating also depends on the company. Ours only came clear and we couldn't paint it. I used scrapbooking stickers on it and it looks great (IMO). I know there are a few different vinyl sticker companies and you can change those easier (I think). When we want to change anything I just peel off the sticker and use nailpolish remover to get off any sticker "gunk" thats left behind.

We also used cranial tech and were told the cost would have been roughly $3,000 if not covered by insurance. We needed 2 helmets (he was young, so growing very fast) so the total cost would have been around $6,000.

We used clear stickers to decorate. Try to avoid the paper backed ones. The plastic (scrapbooking) ones work much better. We never used nail polish or anything. They usually lasted about 2 weeks before they started to look grimy and we would just peel them off and start over with new ones.
